The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature went to Pixar’s Coco. Directors Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina and producer Laura K. Anderson accepted the award (from the cast of Star Wars: Mark Hamill, BB-8, Kelly Tran and Oscar Issac). The Academy Award for Best Animated Short went to Dear Basketball. Glen Keane (director/animator) and Kobe Bryant (writer/narrator) accepted the award.

Based on an original idea by Unkrich, Coco was directed by Unkrich and co-directed by Adrian Molina. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living.

In Dear Basketball, NBA legend Kobe Bryant describes his love for the game, which began when he was a young child. From his youthful dreams of glory to his 20-year career, Bryant describes how he and basketball have given each other all they have.
